Growing up on risotto giallo, cartoons and MTV's, I have had my fill of visual pop culture, which has always held my hand in my work.
Graduated at IED Turin in Illustration and Visual arts in 2019, I specialized in editorial illustration with a look at character design.

I’m Susanna Galfrè, a freelance illustrator and graphic designer from Piemonte, a region in northern Italy surrounded by rice fields and thick magic fog.

Editorial Illustration
Children and young adult, picture's book, magazines, columns and the whole world of storytelling.

Visual identity of a website/company, with the addition of customised icons, characters, fun doodles and assets for motion.

Characters for board games/card games - and as a big fan of Dungeons&Dragons - I can bring your characters to life with my style!
Work process
After talking with the client carefully, I begin a visual research, made by brainstorming and keywords, to find the best solution based on the project concept.
I then start with sketches to focus the ideas, definitive drafts then move on to programs for digital coloring.
Tools
I use stylographic pens and pencil a lot for lineart and sketches, I think they have a touch of authenticity that is impossible to recreate! For the definitive, I use programs like Procreate, Illustrator and Indesign.
Fun fact: I'm left-handed, but that doesn't stop me from using inks ;)
